100th Birthday Party for the Etiwanda Depot

Etiwanda Depot    Etiwanda Depot is celebrating 100 years Saturday, January 25, 2014.  The Depot will be open to tour from 10am to 2pm with displays and information about the historic depot and the Pacific Electric system.  The Pacific Electric system is the right-away that now makes up the Pacific Electric Trail with 21 miles of paved and gravel paths running from Rialto to Claremont.  The Depot recently got a new roof and awning like you see in the picture, but they are still deciding on it’s best use for the future.  The Friends of the Pacific Electric Trail are conducting a survey at their website, if you have a good idea let them know.

BRIO Tuscan Grille

What is the next best thing to books?  How about food?  I was sad to see Borders book store go, but it looks like we have a restaurant moving into that location at Victoria Gardens.  It is BRIO tuscan grille.  There are a couple in Las Vegas and Phoenix, but this is the first one in California.  Pictures on the website make the food really look tasty.  They offer gluten free pasta and will also serve Brunch on Saturday and Sunday.  Check out their website:

Ladies Night at the Winery

Nothing better than Wine Tasting and Shopping!  Come enjoy an evening at the Joseph Filippi Winery!

Slater’s 50/50

Slater's 50/50Have you been to Slater’s 50/50 – Burgers By Design?  A new restaurant in Victoria Gardens, really down Day Creek Blvd. close to Foothill, in the old Harry’s Pacific Grill location.  This is a fun place.  They have an extensive beer menu and Burgers!  Burgers anyway you like including some options I am sure you have never thought of before.  PB&J Burger anyone?  They do offer veggie burgers, grilled chicken breast and turkey burgers.  50/50 stands for their signature patty which is 50% bacon and 50% beef.  Bacon does turn up in many items across the menu.  They have a “Burger of the Month” and donate a portion of the proceeds to the Make A Wish Foundation.  This restaurant is defiantly worth a try, service was great – I will go back.  They also will text you when your table is ready, so go early, put your name in, give your cell number and if the wait is long enough do some shopping at Victoria Gardens.  You can also check the status to see how close they are to having a table for you.  For more information visit their website:
